Dr. Sebastian Kind


Dr Sebastian Kind was born in 1972 and, following a banking apprenticeship, completed his legal studies at Trier University, where he also obtained his doctorate in the law of derivative instruments. This was followed by a legal traineeship at the Düsseldorf district higher regional court (OLG), including a period working in the legal department of a major German bank in New York.

From 2003 to 2012, Dr Kind worked in the banking and finance law practice group of international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, specializing in the areas of funds structuring and project financing, and of financial law regulation and private capital market law.

During this time, Dr Kind also spent six months working for a bank in London.

Dr. Ernesto Drews


Dr Ernesto Drews was born in 1974 and completed his legal studies at the universities of Saarbrücken, Kingston upon Hull (UK) and Osnabrück, obtaining an LL.M in Taxation at the University of Osnabrück in 2001. In 2002 he successfully took part in an LL.M course in Commercial Law the University of Cape Town. His doctorate in law followed in 2003. Dr Drews completed his legal traineeship from 2003 to 2005 in Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein.

From 2005 to 2012, Dr. Drews worked at the international law firm of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, advising clients on all areas of tax law. Dr Drews became a qualified tax adviser in 2008. In 2009/2010, he successfully completed a course in financial economics at the European Business School, and is now also a qualified Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

The law firm Kind & Drews is founded as a partnership in accordance with the German partnership act and is entered
in the partnership register for the state of Nordrhein Westphalia at the court in Essen under number PR 2630.

Job title
The job title "Rechtsanwalt" (lawyer) was awarded to all the lawyers operating within the partnership in the Federal
Republic of Germany. As regards Dr. Drews, this also applies also to the job title "Steuerberater" (tax advisor).

Dr Kind and Dr Drews are registered as lawyers at the bar association (Rechtsanwaltskammer) of Düsseldorf, Freiligrathstraße 25, 40479 Düsseldorf.
Dr Drews is also member of the tax advisors association (Steuerberaterkammer) of Düsseldorf, Gafenberger Allee 98, 40237 Düsseldorf.
